This specimen is mainly located in North Africa (Algeria, Tunisia) and in Mediterranean Europe.
Thyme is an evergreen, woody shrub with aromatic foliage that can reach up to 30 cm in height. The leaves of this specimen are really small, opposite and lanceolate. The flowers appear from mid-spring until well into the summer season and appear in terminal racemes, which are usually violet or purple, although they can also be white. They have recognized therapeutic values and are widely used as a condiment in Mediterranean cuisine.
Thyme is very easy to grow. It needs sun, grows well in all types of soils and is quite resistant to drought. The leaves are collected at any time of year to consume fresh. To dry, the flowery ends are collected, separating the leaves and flowers from the stems, when they are dry.
